Luxury Vinyl Tile

Wooden Floor

LVT is Luxury Vinyl Tile.  LVT has the look of stone, wood, or tile which gives you literally hundreds of options of style, color, and texture.  It is a durable product that stands up to heavy traffic and depending on which product you choose is water resistant or waterproof.  LVT installs easily and can fit just about any budget.

In addition to having the look of stone, wood, or tile LVT can also mimic the actual feel of those products.  Embossed LVT creates texture through a pattern that repeats across the floor and give the look of wood or stone.  Embossed in register LVT is a special process that actually follows the grain of the floor.  This means that the texture of the floor will align with the pattern to look and feel like real wood grain.

There are three primary types of LVT flooring; Traditional LVT, WPC, and SPC.  Traditional LVT is a softer, thinner, and more flexible LVT.  Both WPC and SPC are rigid core LVTs which will be thicker and more stable.  WPC and SPC can span larger spaces without needing transitions.

Traditional LVT:

  • PVC core which is a rubber product and makes the floor more flexible

  • Not forgiving of subfloor imperfections

  • Usually 4mm or less in thickness

  • Feature a more traditional vinyl look and feel

  • Installation is glue, click-lock, or loose lay

  • Softer material means the floor can be easily dented

  • Can be installed below, on, or above grade

WPC LVT:

  • Wood plastic composite core which gives the floor a more stable and sturdy feel.

  • WPC vinyl flooring usually ranges from 5mm to 8mm

  • Resistant to dents and wear

  • Click-lock installation

  • WPC vinyl will be softer on the foot because of the use of foaming agent within the core to give it added cushion

  • Can be installed below, on, or above grade

  • Thicker construction makes it more forgiving of subfloor imperfections

  • 100% waterproof

SPC LVT:

  • Stone plastic composite core for more rigid construction

  • SPC vinyl flooring usually ranges from 4mm to 6mm

  • Harder than WPC and Traditional LVT which makes it more resistant to dents and wear

  • More solid construction makes it more forgiving of subfloor imperfections

  • Click-lock installation

  • 100% waterproof

  • Can be installed below, on, or above grade
